The Audi S4 is a sport version of the German automaker’s entry level sedan powered by a 2.7 Liter Biturbo V6 that sent 251 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque through a Quattro all wheel drive system in 1997. In 2003 the S4 was redesigned with a few new bloated body lines and Audi placed a 4.2 Liter V8 making 339 HP and 302 lb-ft of torque under the hood that would accelerate the four door from 0 to 60 MPH in under 5 seconds. In 2005 the S4 became a bit more curvaceous but retained the same power plant. The latest generation S4 went on sale in 2008 and is powered by a smaller supercharged V6 that produces a more efficient 333 HP and can get to 60 MPH in 4.9 seconds.
La prochaine génération d’Audi A4 sera dévoilée l’an prochain. La super-berline sera propulsée par un bloc 3.0l V6 turbocompressé qui délivrera suffisamment de puissance pour concurrencer la BMW 335i.
En 2011, Audi dévoilera également une version RS4 capable de rivaliser avec la M3.
La nouvelle S4 sera plus légère que l’actuelle tout en faisant un gros effort en matière de consommation de carburant.
